ITEC Diploma in Barbering – ITEC Level 3

Level 3 Diploma in Barbering is a higher level qualification that provides the learner with the knowledge, understanding and skills to work creatively as an employed and/or self-employed barber. This qualification is aimed at those learners who hold a recognised Level 2 or equivalent barbering qualification and ideally work in a barbershop.

  • Cut hair using on trend barbering techniques
  • Design and create a range of facial hair shapes
  • Dry and finish men’s hair
  • Shaving services
  • Facial massage services

1 year part time

Entry Requirements

To be BTEI eligible, applicants must be in receipt of or a dependent of a Social Protection payment before starting the course. Participants on CE schemes or TUS may apply also.

Progression

Learners who achieve this qualification are able to work as a senior barber. Learners could work in a variety of different sectors. Whilst this qualification’s primary purpose is to prepare the learner for employment as a senior barber they may choose to complement their skills base or become a specialist in a particular field of barbering by undertaking a Level 4 Certificate in Trichology for Hairdressers.
