We offer a vibrant, vigorous and creative course, designed to give students the opportunity to develop skills that can help them advance to further study and the professional world of performing arts. This hands-on performing arts course offers an opportunity to improve your performing, auditioning and technical production skills. Learn to work collaboratively with other creative individuals. Display your talents and discover your strengths. Students will work in various professional theatres and performance venues.

Our tutors and visiting practitioners are industry professionals. 

Applicants will undergo an audition and interview requiring relevant appropriate criteria.

Course Content 2017/2018


(HIGHER NATIONAL DIPLOMA in Performing Arts, 120 ECTS Credits)

·         Singing Techniques and Styles

·         Naturalistic Acting,

·         Preparation Process and Production in the Creative Arts

·         Stage Management in Practice,

·         Voice and Speech Development and Practice,

·         Writing for Performance


Year 2

·         Acting for Musical Theatre

·         Design Techniques and Applications

·         Classical Acting

·         Creative Arts Research Skills

·         Musical Theatre Performance

·         Preparation Process and Production in the Creative Arts

·         Popular Entertainment

·         Stage Properties for Performance

·         Theatre Directing

·         Vocal Method in Context

·         Wardrobe Management

·         Work Based Experience.


Higher National Diploma in Performing Arts/ BA Honours in Drama


Higher National Diploma - 2 years
BA Hons Top Up - 1 year

Entry Requirements

Leaving Certificate (including LCA). Appropriate approved prior learning (APL), Interview and audition required. Mature students welcome.

Career Opportunities

Graduates pursue employment in many areas of theatre/film and television industries. Progression to top up degree in Colaiste Dhulaigh or MA in both UK and Irish Colleges.
