IT Technician is a full time course which runs for a duration of one year. Learners will gain a solid understanding of information technology and computer networking as they complete a full award at QQI Level 5.

This is a modern dynamic course that offers students the opportunity to acquire the essential skills needed to gain employment in the thriving IT sector.

Course Content

Year 1

Networking Essentials, Programming & Design Principles, Database Methods, Information and Communication Systems, Spreadsheet Methods, The Internet, Web Authoring, Communications and Work Experience.

Entry Requirements

All individuals who present for this course must be over 21 years of age and in receipt of a social welfare payment for a minimum of six months. All potential candidates must be interviewed and have a keen interest in IT.

Computer Networking, IT support, Computer Maintenance or opportunities to gain advanced entry to further and higher education courses.
