Advanced Certificate in Art QQI Level 6 (6M4029) – 1 Year
A one-year full-time Advanced Certificate in Art course which offers the opportunity for mature students who are interested in developing their own personal art practices further in either 2D or 3D media.
This is a practical and enjoyable course with a broad and engaging combination of modules with a focus on painting, ceramics, drawing, printmaking and combined materials. You will also get the opportunity to develop a personal project . Engage in lively discussion about key artists shaping modern and contemporary art. Develop skills to showcase your art portfolio to promote your work effectively.
Enjoy regular outings to galleries, art exhibitions and field trips, working on location in various places are an integral part of the course.
By the end of this course, you will have begun to establish a personal direction in your art practice. You can then decide to continue to work as an independent artist or progress to higher education to pursue a fine arts degree.
The course takes place at our Raheny Campus.

Entry requirements
QQI level 5 or equivalent award in Art and Design/ photography/craft, graphic design/ illustration or other related qualifications. Mature and postgraduate students are encouraged to apply.
All QQI level 6 applicants will be required to meet with the course team, and present a small sample of creative work – for example: drawings, sculpture, ceramics, collage, 3D work, technical drawing, poster design, photography etc. – to ensure this course is a good fit.
You will be notified in advance with a date and time to meet with the course team. This meeting will be held on our Raheny Campus.

Progression
Students who successfully complete the QQI Level 6 Advanced Certificate in Art Award are eligible to apply for advanced entry to the second year of many third level colleges including:
NCAD, TU Dublin, IADT, and MTU Cork.
