Certificate in Laboratory Techniques QQI Level 5 (5M3807)

This course has been designed to meet the needs of a variety of students wishing to study Environmental Science, specifically those who did not satisfy the entry requirements for direct entry to a degree course, and adult returnees to education.

Students who pass all modules including course practical work (the pass mark in each subject is 50%) may be eligible for entry to a variety of Level 7 and 8 degree courses in Universities nationwide.

Entry Requirements

The following are requirements for entry to the Pre-University Environmental Science course:

• Either:
  • Leaving Cert – an O5 grade in Mathematics
  • Leaving Cert Applied – a Distinction grade (85-100%)
  • Full QQI L4 award or equivalent

Applicants may be accepted without meeting formal entry requirements, depending on prior learning and/or experience. Mature students are welcome to apply.
