Sport Rehabilitation and Exercise Therapy

Are you interested in working with the rehabilitation of injured individuals? If you are conscientious, with good communication skills and would like to encourage and motivate people in a sports and exercise setting, then this course is the perfect choice for you.

This award offers a wide range of modules which enables students to promote and maintain health and fitness through rehabilitation and conditioning, enabling people to restore function, return to sport or work and maintain a healthy lifestyle. You will learn how to treat and prevent injuries through hands on treatment and exercise rehabilitation plans.

Students will engage in practical work experience over the year as and may also engage in their work placement overseas as part of Erasmus +.

Entry Requirements

Leaving certificate with Maths minimum O4 and Science subject desirable.
LCA students with a distinction will be considered.
For mature students, life and work experience will be considered.
Students without a formal education are welcome to apply.
Applicants whose first language is not English may be tested prior to acceptance.

Progression

Students can gain direct employment across different sectors to provide rehabilitation sports and exercise services, such as with sports teams, injury and massage therapy clinics, gyms, leisure centres and health spas.
