QQI Award in Community Health Services Level 5 (5M4468)

This course is aimed at students who will aspire to work as occupational Health and Safety officers. It is not specific to any one industry sector and will give learners the skills to develop a comprehensive health and safety plan which can be applied in most workplaces. The course will also enable learners who wish to progress their studies in this area to degree level in NUIM, TU Dublin and Sligo.

Course Content

Safety and Health at Work, Safety Management Level 6, Equality and Disability Teamworking, Work Experience, Spreadsheet Methods, Exercise and Fitness, Infection Prevention and Control.

Additional Training:

On completion of the programme students will complete additional training in First Aid Response (FAR), Hazard Analysis & Critical Control Point (HACCP), Fire Safety, Safe Pass, Manual Handling, Patient Handling*, Work at Height*, and Confined Space*
* (subject to industry training requirements)

Leaving Certificate and interview. Mature students are welcome.
